Goalkeeper ''position'' everywhere on the field

I was playing 3s with some people and somehow one guy of the opposing team was running around on our side of the field as a goalkeeper and just grabbing the ball like its nothing.

Goal Keeper role is maintained outside of the goal post box. Goal keeper picks up the ball and is unable to be tackled.
