Since S3.0 deflections are happening in unexpected situations, and moving in inconsistent directions.
Occasionally, a ball rolling on the ground will deflect into the air, this has happened as an outfield defender, but I only have a clip when I was GK and dived on a ball I was about to grab with defence stance.
Also, when a ball is rolling slowly you will deflect rather than gain posession if you are too close to the ball. This can be chained when against the wall, or with multiple players in defence stance. I found a repeatable method.

If a ball is moving slowly, it should not deflect and especially should not deflect away FASTER than it's original velocity. As far as I can tell, the deflection is calculated based on how close you are to the ball when it starts
